Purpose and Drive

Purpose and drive, tenacity of reasons,
demand and foment, to be queried and seasoned,
incarnation and spirit, passion, ambiance, ardor and fervor,
amazements fulfill, drawbacks tangle, the trains nudge, stir.
Assessments, appraisals, acumens and footholds,
judgements and verdicts, conclusions, finales,
unsettled and perturbed, ruffled skylines
flurried, flustered, till; pursuing is congealed.
Uneasy, erratic, the gestures and deeds,
flows and drifts, the tides and the ebbs, impetuses unfilled,
the roses feel unsafe, the gambits and ruses,
the moments to fulfill, covets and craves, slam and smite.
Tender and bruised sways and senses, gentle perceptions, and urges,
preludes, prologs, and overtures,
enquiring, challenging, pleading,
contemplations, deliberations, reflections, to foster and further,
while the pawn soldiers, untrod and roadless, to escort the attendance.
Blossoms and buds, rookies and tenderfeet,
abandoned and discarded, to incessantly redeem,
relentlessly embark, to writhe and wrestle,
while, unremittingly and ceaselessly, the distorted dreams,
not to allot the sky and air, to slash or shrink.
Whereas, the perceptions, acumens and aptitudes,
roar, retort, amend and alter,
the land of marvels; the roses burst, horizons clear,
canaries chirp, and fawns; leap and loop, and jolt and joggle;
Gracefulness, elegance, the graciousness, benevolence,
stand to, restore the soul, advance; lucidity and perspicuity,
the hopes, joys and dreams,
shimmer the urge, and gleam the goal.
The aera of absorption and immersion,
epoch of connection and contribution; twinkle, glow, and glitter,
sky’s edges, horizons, sweep and trace.
it is the lonely meadows, bearing the shadow.
Evolve, proceed, portray and seek,
creation and cosmos, guide and maneuver, navigate the sea,
steer and hub, the shock and shudder, stun and confound,
tender, acceptive, robust mumbles, resilient murmurs,
the falls, tumbles, nor, fonder moments, recant and retract.
the drain and dike, the drop and ditch,
not to surge and rush, or, flow and timbre,
mumbles and murmurs, susurrate the pitch
Urges not to tame, inherent drifts, incur and sustain.
Themes & Interpretations
The Anatomy of Drive
Drive is not presented as a simple line, but as a “rough” entity that must “writhe and wrestle.” It is an organic struggle between the “tenacity of reasons” and the “distorted dreams” of the world.
The Vulnerability of Ambition
The poem highlights the fragility of new ideas (“rookies”). “The roses feel unsafe” suggests that beauty and ambition are constantly under threat from the “gambits and ruses” of cynicism.
From Friction to Flow
The journey moves from a “congealed” state of over-analysis (“assessments,” “verdicts”) to a liberated state of “gracefulness” where the soul can “leap and loop” like the fawns.
Sustainable Momentum
The conclusion rejects the burnout of “surge and rush.” Instead, it advocates for a sustainable rhythm—”inherent drifts” that we must “incur and sustain” for the long haul.
